SECTION 1

A t the beginning of the war, four types of tank were used by .. Germans, namely Pz K\v I, 11, I11 and IV. As the war progressed, hr the Pz Kw I and later the Pz ICw I1 began to drop out, so that the form, is now obsolete and the latter obsolescent. Meanwhile, the two mediu tanlcs Pz I<w I11 and IV have been improved and fitted with longer barrellc guns, and two further types have been added to the range of fighting tar1- The first additional type was the Czech LTH, kt IC German P z I<w 38 (t) ; the second is a heavy tank, Pz K, :h appearel action early this year.

The short 7.5 cm gun formerly mounted in the Pz Ku . . ,,,,, , appewed on an alternative version of the Pz ICw I11 (see Plate 7) and a turretless 8-wheeled armoured car (see Plate 17).
