DESCRIPTION

This collection of artwork, by German born artist Georg Meyer-Wiel, is drawn from a new book 'The Life Studies' published by Bruno Gmünder in the series Portfolio1000. The book was launched together with this exhibition at The Ballery on March 25th. For Georg the fluidity of drawing lends itself to an accurate recording of the movement of bodies in performance. This vital examination of a transient moment is an intimate carnal dialogue, urgent and demanding. He gravitates repeatedly to the genre of portraiture.
