Oddly enough, X was not the first choice, after one of the company’s cofounders rejected the name “Pequod” and “Cargo House”.

X by Michael Leigh was a contemporary mass market paperback about the secret sexual subculture of the early 1960s that Cale's friend Tony Conrad showed the group.

MacLise made a suggestion to adopt the title as the band's name. According to ____ and Morrison, the group liked the name, considering it evocative of “___________ cinema", and fitting, as ____ had already written "Venus in Furs", a song inspired by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's book of the same name, which dealt with masochism.

Jesus answered - "A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who both stripped him and beat him, and departed, leaving him half dead. By chance a certain priest was going down that way. When he saw him, he passed by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also, when he came to the place, and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a certain X, as he travelled, came where he was. When he saw him, he was moved with compassion, came to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. He set him on his own animal, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the host, and said to him, 'Take care of him. Whatever you spend beyond that, I will repay you when I return.‘— Luke 10:30–37, World English Bible

“X" was a simple study based on that theory. I decided to write a song based on the first thing I saw upon opening any book – as it would be relative to that moment, at that time. I picked up a book at random, opened it, saw “______ _____", then laid the book down again and started the song.

O wonder! How many godly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O _____ ___ _____,That has such people in't.

X became a household name in India with his roles in Raj Kapoor's Ram Teri Ganga Maili (1985) and Henna (1991).

In 1995 he was awarded an OBE in recognition of his services to drama, the first Asian to receive this honour.[

X recalled in an interview – “While working at Harrods, my former co-star Ingrid Bergman came in one day. I didn't want her to feel sorry for me, so I put on my jacket and tie and acted like a customer,"

"Ingrid said 'Oh X, how lovely to see you, are you buying up Harrods?' When in fact, I had about two pounds in my pocket.“

“X" was inspired by a traditional Irish folk song called "Down by Blackwaterside". The guitar arrangement closely follows Bert Jansch's version of that song, recorded on his 1966 album Jack Orion.

An overdubbed rapid guitar lick can be heard with the tempo then steadying to 114 beats per minute throughout the song. ____ did this to simulate the sound of a sitar, for which the song's dropped-down D♭-A♭-D♭-G♭-A♭-D♭ tuning. ____ played a borrowed Gibson J-200 acoustic guitar for this recording.

To enhance the Indian character of the song, drummer and sitarist Viram Jasani played tabla on the track.

This song was a component of ___ ________'s live set list until their fifth US Tour in 1970. Years later it was restored to their set for the 1977 US Tour, the 1979 concerts and 1980 European tour.

Black Mountain Side, Led Zeppelin

The Disgrace of Gijón refers to the 1982 FIFA World Cup football match played between West Germany and Austria at the El Molinón stadium, Gijón, Spain, on 25 June 1982.

With the outcome of that match already decided, a win by one or two goals for West Germany would result in both them and Austria qualifying at the expense of Algeria, who had beaten West Germany in the first game. After 10 minutes, West Germany took the lead. Thereafter, neither team scored, and few scoring chances were created, along with much own-half passing and few tackles: with both sets of players flamboyantly missing with apparently no attempt at accuracy whenever they shot on goal.

X, was created by artist Steve Ditko and portrayed in live action by Peter Hooten in the 1978 television movie also titled X.

Steve Ditko contributed some of his most surrealistic work to the comic book and gave it a disorienting, hallucinogenic quality. X's adventures take place in twisting dimensions that resembled Salvador Dalí paintings.

The character was inspired by the Y program that aired on the Mutual Broadcasting System in the 1930s.

Dr. Strange, Chandu the Magician

In the late 14th century, the first known X recipe was penned in an anonymous manuscript, Le Ménagier de Paris, written by a husband as a set of instructions to his young wife –

Beat some eggs in a bowl, season with salt and add wine. Toss in some flour, and mix. Then fill, little by little, two irons at a time with as much of the paste as a slice of cheese is large. Then cook it on both sides. If the dough does not detach easily from the iron, coat it first with a piece of cloth that has been soaked in oil or grease Liège X, the most popular contemporary X variety, are rumoured to have been

invented during the 18th century, as well, by the chef to the prince-bishop of Liège.

X and Y are a famous painter couple, both major forces in the Z movement. In the early 1990s, three groups of movie makers were developing X’s biographical

projects. The project that seemed most advanced was a joint venture between Barbra

Streisand's Barwood Films and Robert De Niro's TriBeCa Productions. The script was to be based on Jeffrey Potter's 1985 oral biography, To a Violent Grave, a collection of reminiscences by X's friends. Streisand was to play the role of Y, and De Niro was to portray X.

In 2000, the biographical film _______, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography, X: An American Saga, directed by and starring Ed Harris, was released. Marcia Gay Harden won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Y. The movie was the project of Ed Harris, who portrayed X. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Jackson Pollock, Lee Krasner, Abstract Expressionist.

In 1900 the tire manufacturers André ________ and his brother Édouard published the first edition of X for French motorists. It was given away free of charge, and contained useful information for motorists, including maps, instructions for repairing and changing tires, and lists of car mechanics, hotels and petrol stations.

Based on the principle that "man only truly respects what he pays for," the brothers decided to charge a price for the guide.

They also made several changes, notably: listing restaurants by specific categories; the debut of hotel listings; and the abandonment of advertisements in the guide. Recognizing the growing popularity of the restaurant section of the guide, the brothers recruited a team of inspectors to visit and review restaurants, who were always careful in maintaining anonymity.

What did this lead to/how do we know X today?

A common sentiment of the public during the turbulent 70s was: Nehru was a visionary, Shastri a revisionary, and X was a televisionary. X knew how to wield and harvest the power of television.

X wanted the signature tune of Y to be based on Z. The task of composing the tune was entrusted to sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar.

But, he realized that the actual tune of Z was of a bit longer duration. Working with Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan, Ravi Shankar finally came up with a variation of the original tune and created what can truly be termed the 'National tune of India'.

“X" was a TEDx talk that was given by Y in 2013.  Parts of X's talk were sampled in Beyoncé's song "Flawless" in December 2013. Slide containing sampled parts follows.

We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smallerWe say to girls: "You can have ambition, but not too muchYou should aim to be successful, but not too successfulOtherwise, you will threaten the man"Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriageI am expected to make my life choicesAlways keeping in mind that marriage is the most importantNow, marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual supportBut why do we teach girls to aspire to marriageAnd we don't teach boys the same?We raise girls to see each other as competitorsNot for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thingBut for the attention of menWe teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are

LATIN Round. SO IT GOES.

Translate stuff from Latin. Give me the latin phrase from the English text. +10 for each question. It’s okay if it’s the same fucking ballpark.

X too – like it’s counterpart - is used to encourage someone to make the most of their time, often in the sense of working into the early hours of the morning to get something finished, or else enjoying themselves in the evening once a hard day’s work is done.

A commonly-used phrase in law, this literally means “may you have the body” and is a legal action that requires a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or into court.

Translate “Errare Humanum est” If it helps : – Origin – Apna stoic philosopher Lucius Annaeus Seneca, or simply Seneca.

While it’s counterpart is "the voice of the people," X is literally "the voice of nothing."

It describes an utterly pointless or meaningless statement, but can also be used for the kind of spelling mistake or textual error in which one word is mistakenly substituted for another—like an Autocorrect mistake.

American Dictionary defines X as - X is an argument made repeatedly (possibly by different people) until nobody cares

to discuss it any more. This may sometimes, but not always, be a form of proof by assertion.

X , is a logical fallacy in which an argument is rebutted by attacking the character, motive, or other attribute of the person making the argument, or persons associated with the argument, rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself.

SHUT UP AND BOUNCE - IIANTI CLOCKWISE. 8 QUESTIONS. THE USUAL.SO IT GOES.

X (born February 10, 1950) is a nine-time Olympic champion, and former world

record-holder in seven events.  X is quoted as saying, "When I went to the Olympics, I had every intention of

_______ ___ _________ off, but I realized I was getting so many comments about it—and everybody was talking about it—that I decided to keep it. I had some fun with a Russian coach who asked me if my _________ slowed me down. I said, 'No, as a matter of fact, it deflects water away from my mouth, allows my rear end to rise and make me bullet-shaped in the water, and that's what had allowed me to swim so great.' He's translating as fast as he can for the other coaches, and the following year every Russian male swimmer had a _________.“

Give funda and name the Olympian.

Promulgated by American attorney and author Mike ______ in 1990, X originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions. It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric.

X applies especially to inappropriate or hyperbolic comparisons of other situations (or one's opponent) with _____.

In December 2015, Mike commented on the fascist comparisons being made by several articles on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying that "If you’re thoughtful about it and show some real awareness of history, go ahead and refer to ______ or _____ when you talk about Trump. Or any other politician."

In 2012, “X" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.

The Temple, a gift from the nationalists Shiv Prasad Gupta and Durga Prasad Khatri, was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936. Mahatma Gandhi said, "I hope this temple, which will serve as a cosmopolitan platform for people of all religions, castes, and creeds including Harijans, will go a great way in promoting religious unity, peace, and love in the country."

The X was originally the product of Soviet government-sponsored research into proximity sensors. On of the earliest such instruments, X was invented by a young Russian physicist named Lev Sergeyevich _______ in October 1920 after the outbreak of the Russian Civil War.

The X was used in movie soundtracks such as Miklós Rózsa's Spellbound, The Lost Weekend, and Bernard Herrmann's The Day the Earth Stood Still. It has also been used in theme songs for television shows such as the ITV drama Midsomer Murders. This has led to its association with eerie situations.

Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin used a variation of the X during performances of "Whole Lotta Love" and "No Quarter" throughout the performance history of Led Zeppelin, an extended multi-instrumental solo featuring X and bowed guitar in 1977.

The X was depicted in ancient seals of the Indus Valley Civilization and was mentioned by the ancient Greeks in accounts of natural history by various writers, including Ctesias, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, and Aelian.

Xs are not found in Greek mythology, for Greek writers of natural history were convinced of the reality of Xs, which they located in India, a distant and fabulous realm for them.  The earliest description is from Ctesias, in his book Indika ("On India")

Aristotle must be following Ctesias when he mentions, the oryx. In the Middle Ages and Renaissance, it was commonly described as an extremely

wild woodland creature, which could only be captured by a virgin.

Unicorns

X's mantra for developers had long been “Y“. “Y” is at the heart of the philosophy of being scrappy. X was the

notable proponent of this philosophy until recently, but many startups also believe in it.

Y is the obscured part in the adjacent xkcd comic.

In the 1920s, a two-tone paint job was popular for cars and a headache for automotive painters. The two-tone look was created by painting the car one color, applying a barrier of some sort to the painted portion, and then painting the next section. In order to get around the difficulties of this type of paint job, painters and mechanics tested out different ways to achieve the look. Some automotive shops would glue newspapers over the already painted sections while others used ____ to prevent paint transfer. However those techniques often left a sticky residue on the paint that was difficult to remove. Sometimes, it would even mean the painters had to do the entire paint job over again.

When Richard Drew and 3M began allowing car painters to test the new X, one painter supposedly complained about the lack of ________. One version of the story claims that the painter asked "Why so ______ with the ________?" Another version states that the painter said "Take this back to your ______ bosses and tell them to put more _________ on it."
