Others : (Shoes, Chappals, Fishing Nets, Thermocol, Steyrofoam, ropes and rest of the above two categories)
What Can I Collect?
A category will be assigned to you
Please collect garbage in that category alone, making it easier to recycle
You will be given 1 Reusable garbage bag and 1 Reusable glove
You will be given special bags and gloves for glass collection
How Should I Collect?
Once your bag is full, kindly empty it in large collection bags aligned in the center of zone
Coordinators will assist you with emptying into the right collection bag according to segregation category
If you run out of garbage for your segregation category you can pick up a different category in a different garbage bag, please avoid mixing garbage categories in same bag
Repeat the process until all garbage is removed from our zone or instructed by your coordinator
What if my garbage bag is full?
Safety - DO NOT venture into the sea at any point of time
Don't pick anything heavy or dangerous objects/substance. If you feel something is wrong, contact the nearest coordinator
Don't get into arguments
What I shouldn’t do?
Hand over your gloves and bags to your coordinator (will be reused during future cleanups)
Help with moving the large collection bags from the center of the zone to the access road (These will be taken for 2nd & 3rd
level segregation before recycling)
You will receive a Chennai Coastal Cleanup/5 cloth bag from your coordinator which can be used for future shopping (say no to plastic covers)
More than all these, don’t litter and educate people around you to keep our environment clean. Spread the Word.
