Our first glimpse of the Galapagos

Bobbie and Lew Terman and a friend ready for the flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador

FRIEND BOBBIE LEW

Weather? Marvelous! – and yes, the Galapagos have cacti too!

What a marvelous view!

Sea lions spend a lot of time with each other (The human specie could learn from them!)

Sea lions take long naps on the beach to warm up after being in the

water

A nice and warm place to rest, eh?

Hmmm – is that nice cut for me? Hurry up, I’m hungry!

The cloud formations are beautiful

The other iguana species is the marine iguana - dark color for camouflage against the sea rocks,

and smaller than the land iguana

One of the most spectacular animals is the land Iguana - only found in the Galapagos

The other iguana species is the marine iguana - dark color for camouflage against sea rocks,

and smaller than the land iguana

Birds, birds – filling the sky everywhere!

A frigate bird bachelor… puffs up to attract a mate

Is she interested? Maybe!

The fauna have no fear of humans!

Blue-footed boobies

The Giant Tortoise - another spectacular Galapagos native

They live for more than 100 years

They can be over 5 feet long and weigh over 500 pounds

Occasionally, cross-breeding results in a new species…

A glorious tropical sunset!! Farewell, Galapagos…. Hasta la vista…
