Makeups can also be done on the afternoons of regular testing days

During Testing

▪ Cell phones or other electronic devices are not allowed and must be OFF and left in lockers.

▪ Tell students that if they are caught with their phone on their person after being told to leave it, then it will be considered “insubordination” and a consequence will be issued.

▪ Calculator issues may also be insubordination.

▪ Students can read a book if they finish Section while other students are still working▪Only after Section 2 – not allowed after

Section 1▪ Test booklet must be closed with answer document inside, or collected by teacher▪ Once student moves on to a post-test activity, cannot return to the test

▪Students may write in test booklets in pencil only▪ Highlighters are not allowed on the paper/pencil

test

▪ Calculators are allowed for most of the Math test:▪ Basic or scientific calculator for grades 7-8

▪ No item requires a calculator to answer▪ Calculators will NOT be provided by the school▪ If calculator has a memory, it must be cleared before and after testing

▪ Calculators are not allowed on Section 1, Part 2 This section is marked for students to raise their hands and have their calculators collected before moving on

During Testing

▪ Students are allowed to use scratch paper during Part 3 of the ELA test and the Math test only

▪ Scratch paper must be provided by the teacher and collected after testing

▪ Either plain or lined notebook paper can be used for scratch paper – no graph paper

During Testing

▪ Students must sign or initial the Student Roster each day of testing

▪ The Form number each student used must be listed on the Student Roster

▪ Teachers should report any unusual situations or incidents to the school test coordinator immediately

▪ Make a note of students who have a large number of erasures

Test Results

▪ Results will be received in the fall

▪ There will be four Achievement Levels

▪ Scores required for each Achievement Level will be determined in August

▪ Requirement for 8th graders to pass Reading & Math for promotion are waived for this school year
