Installation of fabric on posts (“soft”) bank protection, and widening of the towpath

Construction of new sheet-piled landing stage near Guildford Road bridge

Refurbishment of existing landingstage (near model railway club), including installation of bollards

Paving of entire length (about 400m)with hard-wearing roadstone

Donation and installation ofhard-wood seat near the newlanding stage

£25K funded from Steljesenvironmental fine (administeredby SHBC)

330 man days by the Canal Society,equivalent to £27K value in kind, plus around £1K in cash donation

A long section of towpath down tothe Canal Centre still needs repair…
