•Continue supporting the main environmental policy and S&T drivers in the area of climate and environmental change and the link to other sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture etc.
•To address new policy drivers such as the European Economic Recovery Plan, the Energy-Climate Package as well as the Renewed Lisbon Agenda.

(SICA) dedicated to international cooperation partner countries– developing a global monitoring system able to predict the spatial distribution of atmospheric
mercury deposition loads to and fluxes from terrestrial and aquatic receptors for current and projected scenarios of economic development strategies on the environment
– Based on results from past EU research projects, long-term data set from different locations will be provided, improving current mercury monitoring and observing system.
