IT IS CIRCUSTIME!!
The 66th
Annual Moslah Shrine
Circus is here. Our show
starts on October 10 and
runs through October
18. Our Family Night at the circus is
October 9. Make plans to join us throughout
these dates. Allen Miller, Circus Chairman,
his Lady Janie and the Circus committees
have been working very hard to ensure the
success of our circus. All that is missing is
your participation. I urge each of you to
come and work what time you can to support
our Temple in this endeavor and bring family
and friends to attend. If you are interested in
working, please call the Business Office at
817-335-9469.
Have a great time at the Circus!
FALL CEREMONIAL
Membership is still our Number 1
priority. Although you will have a few weeks
after the Circus to get those candidates ready
for our Fall Ceremonial, don’t delay, begin
now! November 8 is our Fall Ceremonial.
Rick Evans and his committee have planned
a full day of activities ending with a dance
and casino. We do not just have a few
members on the membership committee;
every Moslah Noble should consider
themselves a member of our membership
committee. Moslah Temple needs your active
support.
GAMES NIGHT& BINGO
Don’t forget our Games Night at the
Directors Building on October 23 at 7 p.m.
and Bingo on October 24 at 8 p.m. in the
Temple Grand Ballroom. This is a great
opportunity to introduce prospective
members to Moslah.
October is always a busy time; don’t
miss out on all the fun! Please remember
to promote the Fraternity every opportunity
you have.

Things are picking up at the Flying Fez.
On August 26, Past Commander Rick Lewis took
his 76th trip to the hospitals. His Co-Pilot was our
Potentate, Illustrious Sir Don Coulson. This trip
was to Galveston and was Illustrious Sir Coulson’s 2nd trip, his first
being made earlier to the Houston hospital. In addition to that historic
trip, two additional trips were made, one to Houston and one to
Galveston.
Flying Fez members enjoy driving the children and making sure
they arrive for their appointments. It is quite an accomplishment
when a driver reaches a total of 50 trips. We have recently had two of
our members obtain that level, Right Worshipful David Sebastian,
District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 64D and Robert
Rodriguez. Congratulations Nobles.
Reaching a total of 100 trips was a goal of our Past Commander
Rick Lewis. His goal was not reached because Our Heavenly Father
summoned him to take care of children in a different realm. Rick was
killed in a glider accident and was laid to rest on Monday, September
8, 2008. He will be missed.

“RVs WANTED”
Our October campout will be at the Lake Athens
RV Park in Athens, Texas. This is a newly renovated
park that is on Lake Athens and right next to the
Texas Freshwater Fisheries. The marina and a restaurant are on site.
This will be our first time at this park and we are looking forward to
trying it out. This is also the perfect time to take in the east Texas
fall colors.
Each month, with the exception of January, we go camping
around Texas. We try to stay within a hundred and fifty miles of Ft.
Worth. Once in awhile it might be slightly further.
We have a great schedule planned for 2008. Only thing missing
is you and your rig. So if you have an RV (motor home, 5th wheel,
travel trailer or cabover camper) you are welcome to come join us.
Anyone wishing to join or needing information about the club,
please contact Ray Jordan at 817-236-2443, Rocky Rothfelder at
817-834-1469 or Gordon Hendon at 817-696-0603.

The MSC says, “let’s have a circus!” We are ready to help
wherever we can. You may not see us all together as a group, but
rest assured we will be working with several different units where
we are members. We pledge our support to our Divan to make this
circus a success.
We are still working on putting together a fall golf tournament
sometime after the circus has left town. Everyone can wind down
and enjoy a good game before cranking up for the holidays. Stay
tuned for information in a flyer coming to you.
Mansfield Shrine Club will be meeting at Mercado Juarez
Restaurant, located at Matlock and I-20. The meal starts at 6:30 pm
(earlier if you are a slow eater and a good visitor) followed by our
business meeting at 7:00 pm. If you are a Shriner living in our area,
bring yourself on out, enjoy a good meal and some good fraternal
fellowship. Bring your Lady if you have one. We meet the third
Thursday of each month.

Our next business meeting is November 4, at 8:00 PM in the
Rehearsal Room of the Shrine Temple. No October meeting because
of the Circus. We will practice our part for the Fall Ceremonial which
is on Saturday, November 8.
We will need all of the Chanters to help usher at the Circus on
October 10 through 18. The work schedule has been mailed to you.
Please call me if you cannot work any of your scheduled
performances. Don’t forget, we sing the National Anthem on
Saturday, October 11 at the 7 PM show. Please come and lend your
voice to this most honorable performance.

How time flies!!! Summer is
over, school is back in session, and
our meetings are back. We will begin
practice for next year later this month,
and after the Circus. Now we are
getting the cars cleaned for the
Circus. As always, you will see those “Little Yellow Cars” lead the
circus parade at each performance. We are also looking at the fall
parades. We will be in Sanger for the High School Homecoming and
later, in Springtown. There is also the anticipation of the Parade of
Lights, the River Oaks Christmas Parade, and the Decatur Christmas
Parade. Let’s not forget the Christmas party and planning for the first
part of December. Who will get the coveted “Over the Hood
Award”?! It will be a busy fall for us, loaded with fun and friendship.
If you would like to join us, then give me a call.

The Directors won first place in San Antonio at
TSA. Our traditional 4th of July picnic at the circus
building was great fun with lots of food and beautiful
fireworks at the end of the evening.
It’s back to work early after summer break busy
preparing for the circus. There’s plenty of activity going on at the
John Mitchell Circus Building. All help is welcome, so feel free to
come in and join the fun. The circus set-up is on Sunday, October
5. The circus tear-down is on October 19. Anyone willing to give a
hand at anytime, before, during, or after the circus, please give Jim
Mitchell a call at 817-689-1051.
Interested in a cruise for four to the Caribbean? The Directors
are selling fundraiser tickets for their unit. Tickets are $20.00. The
drawing will be at our annual Christmas party on December 6. Trip
must be taken between April 2009 through August 2009. You do not
have to be present to win. Contact any member of the unit, they will
be more than happy to sell you a ticket.
Remember, The Shrine Circus is in October this year, so our fall
season begins early. Everyone come out, lend a hand, & enjoy!
D I R E C T O R S
At the time you receive this, we will be getting ready for the
Circus which is October 10-18 (as if you do not know by now). We
need all the help we can get during the Circus. We are also requesting
help for the Special performance sponsored by the “Circus Daddies
Club” on October 10 at 10 AM which benefits the special needs
children and adults. Please contact me if you have not already done
so for assignment. Also, the Shrine Media & Mini Circus will be on
October 9 at 7 PM. Make plans to be there and have a night of fun.
Soon we will be coming to the end of our year and starting a new
year in January. There are numerous positions at which you can help
the LOH strive to continue its excellent standing in Moslah. Please
keep this in mind.
Our LOH meeting will be on October 27. Dinner will be at 1830
hours and the meeting will follow at 1930 hours, earlier if time
permits. Please make note that our meeting dates for the rest of the
year are: November17 and December 15.
Our annual LOH Christmas Party will be on December 16. PC
Tuomey will have info at our meeting in October.
