Part 1
Amazing Folding Rock Formation
When I visited King Canyon National Park on July 2nd 2013, I saw a photo in Grant Grove Visitor Center about the unusual folding rock formation in the park. I was amazed by the beautiful texture and the pattern of this display. I decided to find this location and photograph it myself.
Well, it is a 30 miles drive from Grant Grove to the dead end of highway 180 along Kings River. The first half of the drive was through the Sequoia forest and then downhill switchbacks to the south Fork of Kings River Canyon, the deepest canyon cut by a river. In the remaining half of the driving distance to find a spot only of the size of a SUV (same length but twice the height) was not an easy task.
