Our gym was lavishly transformed into a Tropical Escape on Saturday,
January 25, for our 3rd
annual dance for ‘special friends with special needs.’
The atmosphere was filled with cheer, excitement and joy as we welcomed
approximately 100 friends and danced the aEernoon away….line dancing,
hokey pokey, the train, limbo and everything else! Congregants from Tirzah,
Ebenezer, Neely’s Creek, and Rogers’ Memorial joined hands with us in
showering love on our dear friends who bless us with the purity of their
spirit. The smiles and laughter were contagious! What a huge blessing it was
to have students from Erskine, USC, Appalachian State along with lots of
other Camp Joy veterans mul3plying the joy and working 3relessly. As the
dance came to an end, it was a tender moment when folks joined arm and
arm and sang ‘Jesus Loves Me’, ‘Friend, I will Remember You’, and ‘What a
Friend We Have in Jesus.’ One volunteer summed it up: “It was as close to
heaven as we can be while on this earth.” Surely the presence of the Lord
was in that place! The Holy Spirit anointed this event with His abundant
grace and provision …..thanks be to God! A very special thank you is
extended to the Steering CommiLee; the host of enthusias3c volunteers
who set up, created, painted, baked, cheered, danced, and cleaned up;
Riverview Medical and other donors for their financial support, and United
Rentals for the use of the scissors liE machine.
It’s all summed up with…..JUST JOY!

Church News
Our Christian sympathy is extended to:
Kim Grant at the death of her mother, Rebecca “Becky” Bradley who died on December 22, 2013.
The family of James William “Bill” Hancock Jr. who died on January 2, 2014.
The family of Norma Harris Nichols who died on January 3, 2014.
Chuck Crawford at the death of his mother, Lila Reynolds Crawford Linder who died on January 5, 2014.
Please pray that God’s comfort would rest upon these families.
How can you help?
1) Pray! We are 5 months into our church plan3ng work in Fort Mill. Let's
face it, reaching unchurched people is tough sledding. Pray that God would
open doors for us with unchurched people in Rock Hill and Fort Mill.
2) Invite! Invite people to church. Invite them to your church. Invite them to
our church. (It's okay to visit our church one Sunday when you bring a
friend.) "The reason churches don't reach new people is because they simply
neglect to invite their unchurched friends to church." (James Emery White,
"Why You're Not Reaching The Unchurched.")
3) Point! Point people to our web site and our Facebook page. That might be
the star3ng point for them connec3ng to a new church.
Thanks for praying, invi3ng, & poin3ng,
David Stover
