The surrogate mother carries the baby to term and gives birth, and the baby is released from the hospital to its intended parents.

Basic Requirements to be a Surrogate Mother A candidate must be in good health. Have had an uncomplicated pregnancy

and given birth to at least one child of her own at full term, preferably without a cesarean section.

The surrogate mother’s home environment and family situation have to be assessed for stability and support.

Her ability to separate emotionally from the future child as well as her openness to undergoing medical procedures, including pregnancy termination, upon the Intended Parents’ request.
