Agricultural Marketing
• 3 person team responsible for creating a marketing plan for a product, service or business
• Marketing Plan must be a maximum of 8 pages and include all info requested– Market research, product research and the actual
plan for marketing
• Written plan is all that is required. No face to face contact.
• Due by December 8, 2011
Agricultural Sales
• 4 person team• Each person will be responsible for creating
and delivering a sales presentation on a predetermined product to 2 – 3 judges who will serve as customers.
• The ability to highlight a product’s attributes and convince a person the product is right for them are the 2 main goals of the contest.

Agriculture Electrification (EMC)
• Wiring contest – Demonstration – student will demonstrate while
explaining the installation and operation of a circuit. Problem solving may also be involved.
– Problem Solving – student will answer questions concerning National Electric Code, Cooperatives and solve problems using resources.
– Wiring Problem – student will complete a wiring project that will be judged when completed.
• Workshop – November 14, 2011• Contest – December 8, 2011
Agriscience Fair• This is simply a science fair project that focuses
on agriculture using one the following areas.– 1. Animal Systems (AS)– 2. Environmental Services/Natural Resource Systems
(ENR) – 3. Food Products and Processing Systems (FPP) – 4. Plant Systems (PS) – 5. Power, Structural and Technical Systems (PST) – 6. Social Systems (SS)
• Individual or Pair• Ready for judging by March 31, 2012
Creed Speaking
• 9th graders only• Learn and recite the FFA Creed– Include emotion and emphasis in correct places
• Judges will ask 3 – 5 questions as follow-up to the Creed presentation
• Preliminaries – February 16, 2012• Finals - March 8, 2012
Discussion Meet• Set up similar to a debate or a forum looking for
solutions to issues affecting Agriculture• Judged on your ability to persuade people to see your
viewpoint without being rude or disrespectful– Delivery– Problem Solving and Implementation– Cooperative Attitude– Analysis of Topic or Problem– Opening Statement– Closing Statement
• 4 topics will be provided 4 – 6 weeks prior to the Area contest.

Environmental Natural Resources
• 4 person team• Contest Format– Team Activity
• Written Exam over Ecosystems (all team members work on test together)
– Identification• Animals, plants, etc.
– GPS Practicum• Given coordinates and must find the station

FFA Quiz• 9 graders only• Written Exam
– Questions will only come from the following sources: Official FFA Manual, FFA Student Handbook, New Horizons magazines from the previous twelve months, the Georgia New Horizons Insert from the previous twelve months, and Helps in Mastering Parliamentary Procedure.
– There will be 50 multiple-choice questions on the exam; 40 over FFA and 10 covering parliamentary procedure.
• Oral Exam– Questions will only come from the following sources: Official
FFA Manual, FFA Student Handbook and Helps in Mastering Parliamentary Procedure.
– There will be five oral questions; four over FFA and one over parliamentary procedure.

Lawnmower Operation & Maintenance
• Individual• 3 parts of the contest– Lawnmower Driving
• Zero turn mower to be driven through a course– Written Exam - 20 multiple- choice questions on
lawnmower servicing, safe operation, care, maintenance, and repair.
– Problem Solving - 10 multiple- choice problem solving activities relating to lawnmower servicing, safe operation, care, maintenance, and repair.

Junior Prepared Public Speaking
• 9th graders only• Student researches and prepares a speech on
any agricultural topic– A typed manuscript must be turned in prior to
event– 4 – 6 minute speech
