Feeling Stuck?

• Each day its the same thing.• No seemingly meaningfulness to your life.

“All is vanity…All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is

the ear filled with hearing.” (Ecclesiastes 1:2, 8)

Getting Out of the Rut Via the Flesh

• Adding knowledge doesn’t help. Ecc. 1:18• Pleasure is fleeting, not filling. Ecc. 2:1-2• Projects: vanity. Ecc. 2:11

“There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also

I have seen that it is from the hand of God.” (Ecclesiastes 2:24)

The Rut of “Christianity”?

• A life of “going to church”• Same service,

different day.• Still searching for

something fulfilling.

“When a person can’t find a deep sense of meaning, they distract

themselves with pleasure.” -Viktor Frankl

God’s Calling: A Life of Deep Meaning

• The Golden calling: Love Him, Love others.(Dt. 6:5; Mt. 22:37; Gal 5:14)

• Created: For doing/being good. Eph. 2:10

“Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,” (Ephesians 4:1).

Fulfilling This Calling In Every Season of Life

“….He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will

not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one’s lifetime; moreover, that every man who eats and drinks

sees good in all his labor—it is the gift of God.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11–13).

A Meaningful WalkPractical Application

• Caring for your elderly parents or young children.• Helping a neighbor in need.• Sharing your time with someone lonely.• Comforting another during their time of loss.

Whatever the situation: life is not about “selfish you” but “selfless you”.
