•Pinalllayerstogetherandbastewithbastingthread,usinglongstitches.Youcanalsousesafetypinstojointhelayers.

•Machineorhandquiltstartingatthecenterandworkingtowardsthecorners.Rememberthatquiltingmotifsareamatterofpersonalpreference.Havefunchoosingyours!

•Afteryoufinished,trimexcessofanyfabricorbatting,squaringthequilttoproceedtobindit.

Sew rights sides together.

•Cutenoughstrips1½"widebythewidthofthe fabric G tomakeafinalstrip178"long.Startsewingthebindingstripinthemiddleofoneofthesidesofthequilt,placingthestriprightsidedownandleavinganapproximated5"tail.Sewwith¼"seamallowance(usingstraightstitch),aligningthestrip’srawedgewiththequilttop’srawedge.

•Stopstitching¼"beforetheedgeofthequilt (DIAGRAM B 1).Clipthethreads.Removethequiltfromunderthemachinepresserfoot.Foldthestripinamotionof45°andupward,pressingwithyourfingers(DIAGRAM B2).Holdthisfoldwithyourfinger,bringthestripdowninlinewiththenextedge,makingahorizontalfoldthatalignswiththetopedgeofthequilt(DIAGRAM B3).Startsewingat¼"oftheborder,stitchingallthelayers.Dothesamein the four corners of the quilt.

•Stopstitchingbeforeyoureachthelast5or6inches.Cutthethreadsandremovethequiltfromunderthemachinepresserfoot.Laythelooseendsofthebindingflatalongthequiltedge,foldingtheendsbackonthemselveswhere they meet. press them together to form a crease. using this crease as the stitching line,sewthetwoopenendsofthebindingwithrightsidestogether(youcanhelpyourselfmarkingwithapencilifthecreaseisdifficulttosee).

•Trimseamto¼"andpressopen.Completethesewing.Turnbindingtobackofthequilt,turnrawedgeinsideandstitchbyhandusingblindstitch.
