“First Lady of the Internet”

Lenna or Lena is the name given to a standard test image originally cropped from a Playboy magazine centerfold picture of Lena Söderberg, a Swedish model who posed nude for the November 1972 issue. The image is probably the most widely used test image for all sorts of image processing algorithms (such as compression and denoising) and related scientific publications.

Lena Soderberg in 1997, at the IS&T’s conference.

The ____ _____ _____ paper of the form XYZ paper in physical cosmology published by Ralph Alpher in 1948 formed a part of his doctoral dissertion . It was named so because his advisor added his good friend’s name to the paper to have a comic effect . Later when the theory temporarily went to the rocks , the third author is said to have seriously thought of changing his name to Zacharia.

In physical cosmology, the Alpher–Bethe–Gamow paper, or αβγ paper, was created by Ralph Alpher, then a physics PhD student, and his advisor George Gamow.

Gamow humorously decided to add the name of his friend—the eminent physicist Hans Bethe—to this paper in order to create the whimsical author list of Alpher, Bethe, Gamow, a play on the Greek letters α, β, and γ (alpha, beta, gamma). Bethe was listed in the article as "H. Bethe, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York."

The problem is notable as the only well-known mathematics paper ever written by A , entitled "Bounds for Sorting by Prefix Reversal". Published in 1979, it describes an efficient algorithm for pancake sorting. In addition, the most notable paper published by Futurama co-creator David X. Cohen (as David S. Cohen) concerned the burnt pancake problem. Their collaborators were Christos Papadimitriou (then at Harvard, now at Berkeley) and Manuel Blum (then at Berkeley, now at Carnegie Mellon University), respectively. Identify A .

The problem is notable as the only well-known mathematics paper ever written by Microsoft Chairman and billionaire Bill Gates (as William Gates), entitled "Bounds for Sorting by Prefix Reversal".

Chef is an esoteric programming language designed by David Morgan-Mar. It is based on the manipulation of data values in a number of stacks (the same idea is used in assembly programming languages), Each program consists at minimum of the following:A titleA list of variables and their data valuesA list of instructions for stack manipulationThe joke is that the variables tend to be named after basic foodstuffs, the stacks are called 'mixing bowls' and the instructions for manipulating them 'mix', 'stir', etc.. A program, then, reads much like a cooking recipe.

These primes are called illegal primes , why ?

An illegal prime is a prime number that represents information forbidden to possess or distribute. One of the first illegal primes was discovered in 2001. When interpreted a particular way, it describes a computer program which bypasses the digital rights management scheme used on DVDs. Distribution of such a program in the United States is illegal under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Illegal primes are a subset of illegal numbers.

This iconic product is named after Hanuman , the company is also named the same , when they first released this product , it was the first time a market survey was done before launching the product. Identify it.

X's size is unknown, as large items readily visible from a boat deck are uncommon. Most debris consists of small plastic particles suspended at or just below the surface, making it impossible to detect by aircraft or satellite.

Estimates on size range from 700,000 square kilometres (270,000 sq mi) to more than 15,000,000 square kilometres (5,800,000 sq mi), or up to "twice the size of the continental United States". The area may contain over 100 million tons of debris. X is characterized by exceptionally high concentrations of pelagic plastics, chemical sludge, and other debris that have been trapped. Identify X

The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also described as the Pacific Trash Vortex, is a gyre of marine litter in the central North Pacific Ocean located roughly between 135° to 155°W and 35° to 42°N. Most current estimates state that it is larger than the U.S. state of Texas, with some estimates claiming that it is larger than the continental United States, however the exact size is not known

The X movement is a populist United States protest movement focused on fiscal conservatism. It emerged in early 2009 partially in response to the federal government's stimulus package, officially known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.The movement originated in anti-tax protests and arose largely in response to the 2009 stimulus package as well as the 2008 bailouts and later in revelations about bonuses paid to AIG executives. It has been most visible through a series of X protests, which have occurred ever since early 2009.

The Tea Party Movement

In 1908, the German industrialist and amateur mathematician Paul Wolfskehl bequeathed 100,000 marks to the Göttingen Academy of Sciences to be offered as a prize for a complete proof of X , and that no prize would be given after 13 September 2007, roughly a century after the competition was begun.Y collected the Wolfskehl prize money, then worth $50,000, on 27 June 1997.Prior to Wiles' proof, thousands of incorrect proofs were submitted to the Wolfskehl committee, amounting to roughly 10 feet (3 meters) of correspondence. In the first year alone (1907–1908), 621 attempted proofs were submitted, although by the 1970s, the rate of submission had decreased to roughly 3–4 attempted proofs per month. X has the peculiar distinction of being the mathematical problem for which the greatest number of incorrect proofs have been published."

The Butterfly Effect

12B is a remake of sliding doors

In 12B, the man’s is life is shown in two parallel timelines, one if he had boarded a bus, and the other if he hadn't.

Similarly, Sliding Doors is based on a similar plot where a lady’s mundane decision of boarding the metro is shown in parallel timelines.

The 3 image is that of a butterfly diagram from Digital Signal Prcoessing.

The names X and shilling mark have the same background. In the Commonwealth of Nations, before decimalisation, currency sums in pounds, shillings, and pence were abbreviated using the '£' symbol, the 's.' symbol, and the 'd.' symbol (collectively £sd) referring to the libra, the X, and the denarius. The 's.' was at one stage written using a long s, ∫ that was further abbreviated to the X symbol, and suppression of the 'd.'; This usage caused the names X (given the abbreviation's historical root) and shilling mark to be used as names for this character.

The character Anita Rajan (played by Aishwarya Rai) in Sarkar Raj(made by RGV) is actually inspired by Rebecca Mark-Jusbasche who was involved with Dabhol Power Plant.

Each episode of the first four seasons began with this voiceover introduction:

(Ten years ago / In 1972), a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't

commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los

Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one

else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...

G is the best selling candy bar of all time and has annual global sales of $2 billion. It was named after one of their favorite horses. They were first sold for a nickel. It is made by forming a nougat center into large slabs, which are cut to size once the caramel and peanuts have been added. After the centers are formed, they are coated with thick milk chocolate. The completed bars are inspected, wrapped, and packed in cases for shipment. From 1949 to 1952, G was a sponsor of "The Howdy Doody Show". The "Fun Size" bar was introduced in 1968 and has been a popular Halloween treat ever since.

He "jumped around the set, hopped onto a couch, fell to one knee and repeatedly professed his love for his new girlfriend, and currently his wife."The phrase "jumping the couch", fashioned after "jumping the shark", is used to describe someone "going off the deep end" in public in a manner extreme enough to tarnish his or her reputation. It enjoyed a short-lived popularity, being chosen by the editors of the Historical Dictionary of American Slang as the "slang term of the year" in 2005 and by the nonprofit group Global Language Monitor as one of its top phrases for the year. The "couch incident" was voted #1 of 2005's "Most Surprising Television Moments" on a countdown on E!and was the subject of numerous parodies, including the epilogue of Scary Movie 4 and an episode of Family Guy.
