TRANSCRIPT

An Introduction to Posting Links from a Website to a Facebook Page.

A Presentation of VSBMA.com

Hover cursor over a link Here

See the web page name for the link in the lower right corner of your browser.

A Link is also called a Page Address, Page Name, Website Page, Website Name, Shortcut and URL. Here, we will call it a Web Page Address.

Web Page Addresses usually start with http:// Or www.

Hover cursor over link Here and Right click to Copy Web Page Address (here called a Shortcut)

See the web page address for the link in the lower right corner of your browser.

Click on the link and go to the page

Note that sometimes the Web page address in the Go Bar is “Masked” so it is not the same as the actual page address. This masked name will not be helpful.Ignore it.

Look at the page to make sure it has text and images that can be used by Facebook to create a preview. Note that Facebook is picky. It may not see all the images on a page, such as banners.

Go to Facebook. Make sure you are using Facebook as your Business Page and Not as your Personal Profile.

Right click within the Status bar and select Paste to paste the Web Page Address that you copied.

The Web page address will appear here.

And Facebook will automatically generate a preview for the Web page here, including a small selection of text and an image if available.

If there is more than one image available on the page, Facebook will let you click this arrow to select an image you want.

Or you can upload your own image from your computer here.

Write your own unique introduction to let people know why you are sharing this Web page. Write this intro in front of the Web page address instead of after it.

Click Post to upload the preview.

Your Post will appear at the top of your Facebook page and it will look like this.
