3. Remove the steering wheelincluding chrome spring.
1. Check the tire pressure and take a testdrive with the car. Check the wheel'sstraight position and the car's driving characteristics. If everything is correct,proceed with the conversion.
2. Find an ignition switched feed wire. This is necessary to control the powersteering unit (see point 11). Subsequently, disconnect the negative cablefrom the battery and put the front wheels in straightahead position. Markthis position.
4. Remove the mounting bolt from theuniversaljoint in the engine bay.
5. Remove the lower mounting boltfrom the original steering column.
6. Remove the upper mounting boltfrom the original steering column.
7. The column can now be removedfrom the car. Pay attention to theUjoint!
9. Attach the Ujoint with themounting bolt back to the column.
10. Fit the ECU in an appropriatelocation in the car.
8. Fit the original mounting clips onthe EZ Power Steering column andinstall this column in the car.
11. Connect the included wiring loomin the car.Connect the thick red cable (30+)and its inline fuse to the batterypositive lead.Connect the thin red cable (15+) toan ignition switched feed See point2.
12. Connect the black wire (31) to asuitable earth point.
13. Mount the potentiometer on a goodaccessible location. If the optionalspeed adapter is being used, thepotentiometer is not required (seepoint 14).
14. If the optional speed adapter ischosen, this can be fixed betweenthe speedometer and cable.Connect the wires of the adapterthrough the plug with thecorresponding colors to the EZPower Steering wiring loom.
17. Take a test drive with the car and check if all systems function correctly. Alsopay attention to the position of the steering wheel!
15. Mount the steering wheel withchrome ring back on the car.
16. Contact the ground wire back tothe battery . After turning on theignition, there should be a 'click'noticeable from the ECU. The EZPower Steering system shouldwork after this. Check if it does.
