To rework and transform an old traditional officebuilding into a Fine Art College for a diverse student population. To apply sustainable materials fused with light.

DESIGN CHALLENGES
1. The building is tall with small windows and no light.
2. The building construction is heavy timber (Built in 1910)
3. To incorporate cuttingedge sustainable furniture.
4. The building needs a transition/connection with the North Park neighboorhood and student recreation.
5. To revival Bahause dormitory idea to invite talented students from outside city.
6. Unused parking lot.
7. To create a sustainable environment to inspire the artists.

DESIGN SOLUTIONS1. SUSTAINABLE BUILDING The building is going “Green” with a package of renewable energy, solar system, energy efficiency and sustainable lighting system. 2. ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEM IMPROVED Glazing walls, light transmiting concrete ( Litrocon) are materials to capture daylight to maximum capacity.
3. SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS Experimenting with materials in curriculum and school environment.
4. INCORPORATE LANDSCAPE Incorporate green spaces on the South side of the building and roof.
5. INCORPORATE STUDENT DORMITORY To invite talented student from outside of city.
6. PARKING LOT TRANSFORMED To transform unused space into a bike storage area.
7. INCORPORATE ECO-ROOF FEATURERedesign the roof to inspire the community.

Having in consideration the needs for two distinquish areas of learning and living this space will be divided in two category: school and dormitory.
