Creating an Excel Workspace A WorkSpace (.xlw) is an Excel file that

saves information about all of the currently open workbooks, such as:screen locations, window sizes, zoom

magnifications, and other settings. Helpful when consistently working with the

same group of Excel workbooks and want to save time opening each workbook and arranging them on the screen.

Creating an Excel WorkSpace Open all the files you want to define

(associate) and arrange them as you want them to be grouped for the Workspace.

Go to the [View] tab – Windows group Click the Save Workspace button

This DOES NOT save changes to the individual files. You must save each workbook individually to keep any changes. This creates a “File” that defines what to open and how to view it.

It will create a new FILE icon for the WORKSPACE
