CONTEXTJointly organised by the European Commission, DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship andSMEs, facilitated by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) Europe, this is amatchmaking event with the aim of promoting EU-EU cluster-to-cluster partnerships in various fields.
The matchmaking event will bring together 120 clusters from all over Europe !

Participation objectives: Extremadura is leading a challenging Smart Specialization Strategy where clusters play a crucial role. Since we are the only remaining less developed region in Spain, our Region is managing a considerable amount of ERDF funds for cooperative R&D and efficient investments. Extremadura Energy Cluster is very eager in participating in this call to strengthen interregional collaboration along similar or complementary smart specialization priorities. Important investment efforts are already in place in Extremadura through ERDF funds and diverse instruments (e.g. EIB, Jessica, Elena, etc.) to promote energy efficiency measures in industries and efficient building retrofitting. These sound business cases could now be transferred to the industrial modernization field, in areas such as resource efficiency and service innovation. The envisaged European co-investments may be a great opportunity to test new financial instruments and convince regional policy makers about the need to consider them while planning their Operational Programmes.

2. Finding partners interested in enhancing their international collaboration in order to develop cross sectorial/internationalprojects.
