China, the company provides a full service package includ-
ing customs clearance and de-livery. »With our own warehouse, we are able to cut the costs for
storage. No longer have your ar-rival shipments to be stored at the
airport warehouse, waiting for vessels to berth«, Stone Sun says. The two ware-
houses – one bonded with 2,400 m2 and a domestic one with 1,200 m2 – enable clients to consolidate shipments and combine them, as items can be stored up to one year.Since the end of 2014 CSS started providing Technical Services on board, including gener-al maintenance, troubleshooting, commission-ing and repair for normal equipment. In addi-
tion, reconditioned equipment can be supplied to help the clients save costs. The Shipping Agen-
cy business covers Mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Korea. CCS coordinates on- and off-hire, new building or drydocking operations and takes care of further topics in respect of ship owners matters: crew change, port clear-ance, stevedoring/tallying, supervision, letter of invitation and visa, cash-to-master or sludge dis-posal and bunker or fresh water deliveries. Another service are Ship Supplies. Original/OEM spare parts are provided since the beginning of 2014. If shipowners or operators need spare parts, Stone Sun and his team do their utmost to assist, especially as CSS is authorized for prod-ucts of China TP brand temperature control valve (well-known as Japan brand TPR OEM), Jiangsu Nanji products and India Oilmax products. A spe-cial part of the portfolio is the possibility of store supplies. At the beginning of 2013 CCS start-ed this business which is available in Singapore and major ports in China and Korea. Again, Cae-sar holds the only private spare parts and provi-sion bonded warehouse authorized by Customs, storing for Chevron, Texaco, Caltex, Panolin and Seldis Rope.
The goal of Managing Director Stone Sun and his team is »to provide our principals with fast, dependable and efficient services in all aspect of their needs and satisfaction«. In the last years his company made some good progress. CSS is the partner for many companies which are mainly based in Mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and Germany. »Our prin-cipals trust our capability and ser-vice quality in matters such as ship owner matters, spare parts logistics, freight forwarding, ship supplies or
general agency matters«, Sun says.In 2001 Caesar Shipping Agency Co., Ltd was authorized by China MOC and registered in Shanghai and began of-fering its port agency and husband-ry agency services to the shipping community. With the growing de-mands in the shipping business, Cae-sar Logistics Co., Ltd. was incorporat-ed in 2006, specializing in air freight and sea freight forwarding and spare parts clearance in China, solving prob-lems faced by ship owners, ship man-agers and spare part suppliers as
well as all other customers who are in need of fast and efficient service.In April 2008, the customs head office authorized CSS to hold a ship spare bonded warehouse for spare parts and ship supply. In November 2011, the company obtained dangerous ship’s supply and spare parts bond-ed warehouse license in China as well.In the meantime, CSS has founded overseas branch companies, including Singapore (in 2010), Hong Kong (in 2014), Korea (in 2015) and has a repre-sentative office in Germany since 2013.

ping so far. Keynote speaker Arsenio A.
Dominguez set this course – instead of
saying what has been saved in shipping
and where pollution has been cut down,
he presented an appeal to ind common
ground for regulation. As Chairman to
the IMO Marine Environment Protec-
tion Committee, he said: »Some say
we are too slow.« For the IMO harmo-
nization of so many member nations,
NGOs and even environmental organi-
zations is not an easy but essential task,
and Dominguez started an appeal not
to give up. »Whenever we introduce
new regulation, we listen to all of you,«
he said. He also admitted that collect-
ing data prior to new rules takes years
and is oten helped by class but also a
great challenge.

MS&D: more for lesshe international conference on maritime security and defence focussed on new ships to answer tighter budgets and strategic challenges
About 100 expert participants from 29 countries’ navies, ship build-
ers, class societies and institutions met to discuss complex tasks ahead: At the MS&D, almost all signals and debates orbited the profound change in de-fence budgets and the vessels suited for decreasing resources. While build-ers spread design and hope, navy oi-cials looked at frigates, OPVs and subs and debated symmetric and asymmet-ric threats. Traditionally, the German Navy opened the scene. In his keynote Vice Admiral Rainer Brinkmann dealt with »developments in the worldwide security situation and their impact on maritime tasks«. Globalization and digitalization depend on naval forc-es as protector of European interests. New naval forces thus should be lex-ible, scalable and modular. Brink-mann criticized the political per-spective navies should be optimized. Preparedness for asymmetric threats can not compensate for collective de-fence and deterrence. he ighting ca-pability for high intensity is not obso-lete. He described the way out: »Best ships are partnerships«. he German navy transformed into an expedition-
