Selection Process (4)• If selected, decide which supervisors you are

interested in working with (not all will be able to take a student, so choose a few) and email their names, your cv and application form (if asked for) to erasmus@bioch.ox.ac.uk, ;

• DO NOT contact any host university or super-visor before told to do so;

Selection Process (5)• You must also choose an Oxford project as a fall-

back in case the arrangements fail;• During HT, the Erasmus office will liaise with co-

ordinators in the host universities to get you into your preferred lab;

• As soon as your placement abroad is confirmed, let the Teaching Office and your allocated Oxford supervisor know that you will not be needing the Oxford project.

ERASMUS & Princeton Exchange Schemes

DO REMEMBER:• These are reciprocal schemes and students will

only be able to go abroad if there are suitable students who want to come to Oxford;

• For Erasmus students there has to be an overall balance of numbers and you may not necessarily exchange with a student from your preferred university;

DO REMEMBER:• You must choose an Oxford project as well, just in

case….• Be patient; the process can be slow. • Check the Department’s Erasmus web pages and

timetable: the answer to your question is probably there;

Over the summer:

- think about which labs which participate in the scheme you might like to spend time in from the scientific interests you have;

and FINALLY

• Most students who have been selected through interview to study abroad in the past got there and they thoroughly enjoyed and benefitted from the experience.
