INTRODUCTIONThis catalogue represents standard items of equipment supplied by Rural Fire Service Queensland (RFSQ) for use by Rural Fire Brigades. It is anticipated that this catalogue will be updated and reviewed annually.
The catalogue superseeds the RFS Equipment Catalogue 2012-13. It has been designed to assist with identification of items for ordering purposes. Stock codes, photos and a brief description of features are listed against each stock item and the cost, if any, to the brigade. Items not showing a cost are free of charge to brigades at the discretion of the Area Director, RFSQ.
Any enquiries regarding equipment should be directed to your Area Office in the first instance.
HOW TO ORDERThe Brigade Secretary (or delegate) places orders by using a Brigade Requisition Form (RF001). Dress uniforms need to be ordered on the QFES Volunteer Uniform Order Form.
The form is to be completed utilising the stock code to correctly identify each item being ordered. All requisitions for dress uniforms and personal issue equipment are to include the member’s name and identification number, along with a notation of ‘initial issue’ or ‘replacement issue’ as appropriate. Requisitions for PPE are to be made on a separate requisition to equipment.
It is important that the entries on the form are clearly printed and that the form is signed by the Secretary (or delegate) with the original copy of the Brigade Requisition Form submitted to the Area Office. The actual delivery address must be clearly entered in the space provided, with a telephone number included in case delivery problems are encountered.
For more information, please refer to the Rural Fire Brigade Manual Business Rule D5.3 Brigade Equipment.
ITEMS ON BACKORDERWhere an item is not currently held in stock within the Central Warehouse and is in the process of being ordered in, it is classified as being on ‘backorder’. Items on backorder at the time of processing a Requisition Form will be forwarded to the Brigade as soon as the items become available for issue at the Central Warehouse.
PROCESS FOR RECEIPT OF ITEMSWhen the items are received by the nominated Brigade representative, the package contents should be checked against the Despatch Copy packing slip. If any discrepancies are noted, immediately make contact with the Central Warehouse on the number detailed on the bottom of the packing slip. The Central Warehouse will provide information and take necessary steps to rectify the situation. Delays in notifying the Central Warehouse of discrepancies may result in extended re-delivery times.
RETURNWhere a Brigade receives an item of stock which is incorrectly provided or no longer required, the item should be returned to the Area Office. The Area Office should use the ‘Return for Credit or Exchange’ Form (CS003) when returning goods to the Central Warehouse. UNLISTED/SPECIAL REQUISITION ITEMS If a Brigade requires items of equipment that are not listed in the RFSQ Equipment Catalogue they can submit a “Special” requisition to the Area Director, RFSQ. These items will be evaluated on their requirements and funding contribution through consultation with the Area Director. Some example items that may be requested are: large volume water tanks, communications equipment, and hose reels. An Area Director may choose to fully, or partially fund these items if they are deemed a requirement. These items are to be on a separate requisition to any other stocked items.

2 PIECE COVERALLS - SELF MEASURING Measurement
Chest - Measure around the chest, below the arms and across the back. Waist - Measurements should be taken over shirt at the waistline. Measure at position (height) trousers are normally worn. Inleg - Take your most comfortable pair of correct length trousers and measure inside leg seam from crotch to hem.
DirectionsJacket - Using table below, match your chest measurement with jacket size. Keep in mind the jackets are designed and made loose fitting. Trouser - Use waist measurement first to determine size, then match your inleg measurement to determine if you require a Regular, Stout or Long (e.g. 92cm waist and 78cm inleg =92R). Note: Generally the jacket size should correspond to the trouser size (i.e. a size 92 jacket will go with a size 92R, 92S, 89L or 94L trouser). In most cases the jacket and trouser size should not vary by more than 2 sizes. Your current coverall size is the best indication of the “set” size you require.
As for all 100% cotton garments, some shrinkage will occur.

SLIP-ON UNIT AND SPEEDLOADER
In this section you will find information about slip-on units and speed loaders.
Slip-on units are supplied principally to Primary Producer Brigades (PPBs) and are strategically located around large Brigade areas. They are predominately used in support of private equipment where no appliances are available. The number of slip-on units for a Brigade is determined by risk and the capacity of the Brigade to operate the equipment in a safe manner in line with Workplace Health and Safety obligations.
HOW TO ORDERThe Brigade applies to the RFSQ Area Office for a slip-on unit in accordance with D5.3.2 Apply for Slip-On Allocation in the Brigade Manual.
Brigades will be notified by the RFSQ Area Office of the success or otherwise of their application. If unsuccessful the Brigade will be given the option to apply again in the next round or to go ahead with the acquisition at full cost to the Brigade. The Brigade will be provided with information on other ways of accessing funding to support this through the various funding grants and sponsorship opportunities available to Rural Fire Brigades.
Please note – Slip-On Units and Speedloaders remain the property of QFES RFSQ and the Brigade to which they were assigned. These units cannot be moved from one Brigade area to another without the prior written permission of the Area Director.
Slip-On Units and Speedloaders being moved will be transferred on the QFES RFSQ Asset Register. This register is used to assess risk when the Brigade is applying for further units. It is therefore imperative that the Asset Register is correct.
