Women bound their feet to make themselves look pretty. Here is a picture of a women's shoe. This shoe is three inches long.

This is a Han Chinese inner dress.

Nobleman's wife's robeAnything with embroidery (Buzi, is what the Chinese call it) was for the royal people. This has little to no buzi, but is nice, so it was probably a nobleman's wife's robe.

Comparing a man's robe and a women's

A man and women's Chinese robe are similar to each other in a few ways. For example, they are both quite long. Red is popular among them both too.

• These are parasols. Parasols were often used by Chinese women to keep the sun off their faces.

Red was very common in Chinese clothing. It was also considered lucky by the Chinese.
