MM illions of people across the world and

South Africa took time to devote 67

minutes to do good on 18 July 2011 to mark

Nelson Mandela’s 93rd birthday.

The world renowned former statesman’s birth-

day was celebrated through a multitudes of ac-

tivities that indicated people’s caring nature to-

wards the most vulnerable sectors of our com-

munities.

The Major government event was held at Gi-

yani stadium where Ministers, the Limpopo

premier Cassel Mathale and MEC’s dedicated

time to do good.

While addressing staff members on the side-

lines, MEC

for Health and Social Development, Mme

Dikeledi Magadzi challenged them to emulate

Nelson Mandela when serving patients.

“ We must be able to show our caring nature

when dealing with our patients, we must serve

them with a smile and show some respect”,

said MEC Magadzi.

The MEC also reminded staff that it is im-

portant to advertise our services as a depart-

ment like any other business because we are

in the business of making sure that we have

a healthy nation.

She further thanked all staff for bringing ser-

vices such as HCT to the stadium to afford

people an opportunity to test and receive oth-

er services

Festivities continued until late at the Giyani

stadium where thousand of people gathered

to honour the great icon of our struggle.
