THE ARTICLE
Pan Yue. China
Greenhouse gases. Heat up our planet.
Pollution. China the most polluted.
The answer Alternative energy sources.
PAN YUE
He’s the deputy director of
the state-run Environmental
Protection Agency in China.
Has launched a campaign
to clean up China’s
environment.
GREENHOUSE
GASES
By their percentage contribution to the greenhouse effect the four major gases are:
-water vapour, 36–70%
-carbon dioxide, 9–26%
-methane, 4–9%
-ozone, 3–7%
The gases that are heating up our planet and could be contributing to natural disasters like the 2004 greatly increased their emissions in their search for rapid economic growth and a better quality of life.
Greenhouse
The greenhouse effectis caused by an atmosphere containing gases that absorb and emit infrared radiation.
Greenhouse gases trap heat within the surface-troposphere system causing heating at the surface of the planet or moon.
POLLUTION
The fastest growing developing countries have greatly increased their emissions in thousands last years.
As a result China is already the world’s second producer of greenhouse gases. Many people that China will became the first producer of greenhouse.
CAUSES
Over the past fifty years, production of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane has risen sharply, and a new type of chemical has been introduced as a refrigerant, solvent and aerosol propellant, but it is also a very powerful greenhouse gas, because it can trap a lot of radiation.
CONSEQUENCES
There are many expected consequences: Hotter and cooler temperatures
General rise in sea levels, in part resulting from melting polar ice caps
Changes in rainfall patterns
Increased frequency and severity of storm systems such as hurricanes, windstorms and thunderstorms
Increased frequency and severity of droughts and floods
Loss of habitat and biodiversity
Expanded occurrence and distribution of serious health risks and diseases
EXAMPLES
OF
GREENHOUSE
GASES
* Affected Countries
india
Nowadays Indian government has taken some measurements about greenhouse.
-Water conservation
-Use more renewable energy.
-Preservation of natural resources.
India has taken all these measurement because the government has realised that the greenhouse is very dangerous.
PAKISTAN
ONU has declared Pakistan as one of the most affected counties.
One investigation of Ginebra has said that Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries.
That’s why in this area happen hurricanes, earthquakes, cyclones.
poliNESIA
Indonesia could lose
2.000 islands due to the
rise of sea level.
Statistics say that by
the age of 2030, the
sea level will have risen
up 89cms.
PERU
Due to the global
warming, a lot of glaciers
will disappear.
Tropic glaciers will be
unfrozen.
Glacier basin's change
of the rain pattern.

GASES
BIODIESEL
Biodiesel has different solvent properties than petrodiesel, and will degrade natural rubber gaskets and hoses in vehicles.
Biodiesel can also be used as a heating fuel in domestic and commercial boilers, a mix of heating oil and biofuel which is standardized and taxed slightly differently than diesel fuel used for transportation.
KYOTO PROTOCOL
The Kyoto Protocol is a protocol
aimed at fighting global warming.
The Protocol was initially adopted on
11 December 1997 in Kyoto, Japan
and entered into force on 16
February 2005. As of November
2009, 187 states have signed and
ratified the protocol.
Under the Protocol, 37 industrialized
countries commit themselves to a
reduction of four greenhouse gases
and two groups of gases produced
by them, and all member
countries give general
commitments.
CONCLUSIONS
1. We are facing climate change: temperatures rising, as the isotopic signal, thermodependent since the beginning of the twentieth century. The tropical glaciers of the Andes are quickly reduced .
2. Consequently, for 50 years, the time of melting, the glacier basins will find a good water resource, but after 2050 this resource will be reduced, while the populations concerned are accustomed to using more water. Like that will happen to cities like La Paz, Lima and Quito that depend, in part, the glacier water? Water in the 21st century appears as a major challenge !
