Flannel Baby Blanket Finishes 36” x 36”
1. Cut both flannels 36” square. You can cut rounded corners if
you like, by tracing around the edge of a small plate. Prewash
the flannels and dry on high heat to preshrink them. Iron.

2. Layer fabrics RST (right sides together) and pin. Sew
1/4” from the edge all the way around, leaving a 6”-8”
opening for turning.
3. Clip the corners at a diagonal. Turn right side out and
gently poke out the corners so they are square. Press.
4. Press under the raw edges at the opening. Pin. With
thread that matches the top, sew all the way around,
1/4” from the edge. This will close the opening and
stabilize the edge.
5. Top stitch all the way around, approximately 2-1/2”
from the edge. This will create a nice border and
further stabilize the edge. To add more interest, use a
zig-zag or a decorative stitch and contrasting thread.
