• Get out your notes for Part 1

• We will do some brief work together; then you will do some written work on your own.

Character Part 2 – whole class

• What kind of person is your chosen character? For the next two minutes, write down as many adjectives as you can that describe him/her.

Example: Arnold Spirit Jr.—brave—persistent—sensitive—philosophical—creative . . .

Michele
Write student responses on the board.

Character Part 2 – whole class

• Now choose what you think are the three (3) most important traits of this character.

Ex: Junior: sensitive, persistent, philosophical.

Character Part 2 – whole class

• Now write a sentence to describe the character using one (1) of these traits:

Ex: Arnold Spirit Junior is a sensitive boy.

Now, find evidence, in your Character Assignment Part 1 Notes (or in your novel) that supports/shows this trait.

Rowdy.• He cries easily and often. Ex: When Mr. P said you

deserve the world.• When he told Rowdy about his first unrequited love,

he cried.• He always talks about his feelings about the alcohol

problem.
