Product naming rationale
Capitalizing on Sport Maxx umbrella name for all UHP tyres due to strong racing heritage (DTM, BTCC)
RT stands for ‘Racing technology’ to highlight the technology transfer from motorsport and be consistent with the previous generation (TT & GT)
Simplification of the naming with the removal of ‘SP’ letters. Same standard will be adopted for all future products

Consumer needs
66
Extra requirements with Ultra High Performance tyres
Enhanced grip is what UHP drivers are also looking for
Good grip, on wet roads in particular, for optimal safety tread and compound take care of that
Short braking distance
Long lifetime, durability: lasts at least one, better several, seasons harder compound
Smooth running and comfort (little noise and smooth rolling)
Should look good on car: Size, sidewall printing and tread pattern
Reliability – no punctures
Energy-saving qualities, meet sustainability requirements
Tried and true brand promising quality
Enhanced grip
Ultra short braking distance
Control, optimal handling, very good cornering
Perform all their qualities at high speed over 180, 200 kmph and also on wet roads
Innovative technology, continuous development
Should look great on car
European origin: Dunlop, Michelin, Pirelli, Bridgestone offer good UHP tyres

USP, Benefits and Key technical features
USP:Sport Maxx RT: A champion in Grip and High Speed Braking
Benefits:Rational benefit: Better grip and braking thanks to motorsport derived technologies
Key Technical Features:Adaptive compound for a ‘racing’ grip and improved braking performances
Massive outer shoulder block for increased stability and better handling when cornering
New ‘power braking’ blocks for a shorter braking distance especially at high speed
Low Weight Construction, for improved Rolling Resistance performances
1313
DRY PERFORMANCE
Benefit Feature Action
Enhanced grip Adaptive compound
Motorsport derived polymer delivers increased adaptability to road surface.
Benefit Feature Action
High Handling StabilityMassive Outer Shoulder Block
Increases shoulder contact area when cornering, especially at high speed
Benefit Feature Action
Shorter Braking Distance, especially at high speed
Short-Braking Blocks
Optimized geometry leading to increased block rigidity
1414
Adaptive compound
Road is not a perfect flat surface roughness
Roughness level vary from road to road (asphalt, concrete)
Roughness is randomly distributed
1515
Adaptive compound
Thanks to high adaptability of the Sport Maxx RT tread Compound, the real contact surface is increased
Better Adaptability More Contact at Micro-level more Grip

Short-Braking Blocks
Standard blocks:Lift-up effect on trailing edge
Less contactEspecially trailing edge
Short-Braking blocks:Anti-Lift effect on trailing edgeMore contactEspecially trainling edge
Increased stiffnessAllows
To resist lift-up

WET PERFORMANCE
Benefit Feature Action
Better Aquaplaning performances
Large Central Grooves
Increased volume allows for higher water flow
Benefit Feature Action
Better Aquaplaning performances
Round footprintWater flow is pushed via the lateral grooves

FUEL CONSUMPTION
Benefit Feature Action
Reduced Fuel Consumption
Optimized construction
Optimal material distribution reduces heat generation
Aerodynamic sidewall and shoulders
Reduces air drag
