Dover Merchant Navy Memorial
The Merchant Navy War Memorial at Marine Parade Gardens, Marine
Parade, Dover, was unveiled on Merchant Navy Day 3 September 2008, by
Mr. Winston Spencer-Churchill, (1940-2010), who was the Grandson of Sir
Winston Churchill. Funded by the Dover & District Merchant Navy Memorial
Fund, it consists of a statue of a Second World War Merchant Navy officer,
mounted on a Cornish granite plinth.
