DESCRIPTION

In his presentation at this APM event on 2nd December 2014, Mark argued that when faced with a big problem you don’t automatically create a project plan and schedule. Instead you should assess the situation and determine if a plan is the right answer.

Planning

Planning determines what is to be delivered, how

much it will cost, when it will be delivered, how it

will be delivered and who will carry it out.

Schedule Management

Time Scheduling

Schedule management is the process of

developing, maintaining and communicating

schedules for time and resource.

Time scheduling is a collection of techniques

used to develop and present schedules that

show when work will be performed.

Schedule determines what we see and don’t see. It is a way

of compartmentalizing so we can concentrate on one thing at

a time. But it also denies context, selects what we will and

won’t see and how the pieces fit together. It is a system for

setting priorities and deciding what is included or not.
