How can this facilitate our Teaching and Learning?

Student Centered Leadership Specific roles to improve student engagement, critical thinking and leadership skill sets.Independence and collaboration Group work is a fundamental part of teaching and learning to ensure students understand

the fundamental aspects of working as a part of a team. Students facilitate each others’ learning through using these roles within self and peer

assessment consistently in all subject areas.Blended Learning environments FPS has a range of alternate learning spaces such as ‘The innovation hub’, ‘Design Studio’,

‘The Enterprise Lounge’ and ‘ The Boardroom’. These rooms are used as idea factories and discussion areas for students to express their

designs and ideas.

Leader- The person who leads or commands a group.

Accountant- The person whose job is to keep or inspect financial accounts.

Architect- The person who designs and supervises the construction.

Mechanical Engineer- Applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis and manufacturing.

The Vehicle Challenge In your teams you have 5 minutes to discuss, design and plan

your vehicle.

You have a budget of 200aed to buy the parts for your vehicle.

You will then have 25 minutes to make your vehicle.

The outcome:

ReflectionIn your groups, think about and discuss the following questions:

What learning skills did you use as individuals and as a team?

Were you enterprising and innovative whilst undertaking the task?

Did you feel all group members were engaged and immersed in the task?
