Denver Post wins four Emmy awards for multimedia work

The Denver Post won four Emmy awards from the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy ofTelevision.

The awards were presented Saturday at the Denver Center for Performing Arts' Seawell GrandBallroom.

The Post won in the "human interest/program/series/special" category for "Trying to Live, Trying toLearn," a report about homeless students by Jennifer Brown with photos by Joe Amon and video byMahala Gaylord.

The Post won for a documentary "Desperate Journey" about families coming to Colorado trying toheal children for whom conventional medical treatment failed by using a special kind of marijuana,by reporter John Ingold, photographer Joe Amon and videographer Lindsay Pierce.

The Post won in the "public/current/community affairs - feature/segment" for "Lisa, " produced byMahala Gaylord.

And the Post won in the "short form - editor" category for its "Desperate Journey Trailer" done byLindsay Pierce.
