#FOMO & My Future DECISIONS

WHAT IS FOMO? “fear of missing out”

According to Urban Dictionary it is “the state of mental or

emotional strain caused by the fear of missing out; a

compulsive concern that one might miss an opportunity or

satisfying event.”

“What is God’s will for my life?”

FOMO & MY FUTURE

The decisions we make, end up making us.

FOMO & MY FUTURE

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the

way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Rom. 12:2

WORLD VS. WORD

“The better you know the Word of God, the less confusing is the will of God. Those who struggle

the least with the will of God are those who know the Word of God.”

Charles Swindoll

for Christ, who died and was raised for them.

2 Corinthians 5:15

BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK The Lordship of Christ

You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

1 Corinthians 6:19b-20

BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK The Lordship of Christ

So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do

what I say?

Luke 6:46

BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK The Lordship of Christ

Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

What decisions do you need to run through this grid?

APPLICATION Lordship & Vision

For your next big decision, ask yourself:

•  Am I living for my self, or Christ?

•  Is He calling the shots or am I?

•  Am I believing in His Word or myself?

•  Am I using His Word in my decision?

APPLICATION

Do I have misplaced FOMO?

Should I be more fearful of missing out on an opportunity for growth?
