Thisadditionalmoduleenablestheacquisitionandstorageoflargeamountsofdata(suchasmeasuringandbalanceva-luesofthesolarsystem)overalongperiodoftime.TheDL2canbeconfiguredandread-outwithastandardinternetbrowser via its integrated web interface. For transmission ofthedatastoredintheinternalmemoryoftheDL2toaPC,anSDcardcanbeused.

4.1 Mounting
The datalogger is designed for the use as a mobile unit as well as a wall-mounted unit. Please pay atten -tion to the following instructions when using the data logger as a wall mounted unit:
Theunitmustonlybelocatedindryinteriorlocations.Itis not suitable for installation inhazardous locations andshouldnotbeplacedclose toanyelectromagneticfields.Pleasepayattentiontoseparateroutingofsensorcablesand mains cables.

of113mmandinserttheencloseddowels.2. Attach the base by means of the enclosed screws
(4x40mm)(1).
4. Installation WARNING!Always disconnect the device from power supply before opening the housing!
4.2 Connection

Connect the datalogger (pos.1) to other modules in the following order:
1. Connect the data cable (RESOLVBus®, pos.3) to the RESOLcontroller(pos.4).Extend,ifnecessary,withen-closedscrewterminaland(twisted)two-wirecable.
2. Plugmainsadapter(Pos.2)intothemainssocket.
3. Fordirect connectionof a routerorPC,connect thedataloggertotherouter(pos.7)orPC(pos.8)bymeansofthenetworkcable(enclosed,pos.6).

5. Operation
ThestatusLED(integratedintothebutton)visualisestheoperatingstateoftheDL2.
Thedataloggercanbeconfigured,readoutanddeletedviatheintegratedwebinterface.TheDL2isadditionallyequip-pedwithamanualresetbutton.Thefollowingfunctionscanbecarriedoutbypushingthebutton:
• Deleting the internal memory; the settings will not bedeleted.Forthispurpose,pressthebuttonformorethan5butlessthan10seconds.AllLEDswillbeflashing.
• Resettingthedataloggertothefactorysettings.Forthispurpose,pressthebuttonformorethan10seconds.AllLEDswillbeilluminated.Thisresetprocesscantakeseveralminutes.

8. Connecting the datalogger
ThedataloggerisdesignedfordirectconnectiontoaPCviaaLANconnectionorarouterandisusedforremoteaccess.Pleasecarryoutthefollowingsteps:
1. Installthesearchtool: The search tool can either be started from theCD (DL2DiscoverToolSetup.exe) or from theinternet(http://www.resol-dl2.de/discover/) (Confirmthesecurityenquiryaboutthedigitalsignature)
2a.Startingthetoolfromtheinternet: Thedataloggerwillautomaticallybesearchedanddis-playedassoonasitisfoundbythesearchtool
2b.InstallationfromtheCD:
• Start„DL2DiscoverToolSetup.exe“.Thesearchtoolwillbeinstalledunder„Programme\RESOL\DL2Discover-Tool“
• StarttheDL2Discovertool.TheDL2willautomaticallybesearchedanddisplayedassoonasitisfoundbythesearchtool.
• Markthedataloggerfoundbythetoolbyclickingonit
• Clickon„Open“
3. Thestandardwebbrowseropens
• Enterusernameandpassword.Usernameandpasswordare„admin“(factorysetting).
7.2 Fill level of data memory ThefilllevelLEDsvisualisethecurrentfilllevelofthedata-logger,i.e.theinternalmemorycapacityused.
Onebarcorrespondsto10%ofthe internalmemorycapacity:Permanentilluminationmeansthatthememorycapacity is fullyused.FlashingLEDsindicatethelevelatwhichdataarebeingstored.
Example:Whenthe3rdbarfromthebottomisflashing,thecapacityusedislargerthan20%butsmallerthan30%.
Note: WhentheDL2 isused inconjunctionwithaGigabit-Networkdevice(laptop,switch,etc.),problemscanoccurwhentheconnectionisbeingestablished.Inthiscase,werecommendusinga100Mbit-switchbetweenthetwodevices.

• Enable/disabletheLANautoconfiguration
• InformationsuchasIPaddress,IPnetmask,etc.isindicated.

• Inordertosavethechanges,clickon„Savechanges“.
The„PrintConfiguration“button:
• Inordertoprintthecurrentconfigurationofthewebinterface,clickon„PrintConfiguration“.
Logging modeTherearetwotypesofloggingmodes:
• Cyclic (factorysetting): IftheinternalmemoryoftheDL2isfull,theoldestdatapacketswillbeoverwritten.
• Linear: IftheinternalmemoryoftheDL2isfull,nofurtherdatawill be logged.
