Apprenticeships are work-based training schemes that are designed around the individual needs of your business and lead to widely recognised qualifi cations.
The government-funded programmes are suitable for new and existing employees who want to develop their skills and progress their careers. They offer on-the-job training combined with valuable qualifi cations, allowing your organisation to benefi t from well trained, qualifi ed and experienced staff.
What are
apprenticeships?
All of CYQ’s Apprenticeship packages comprise the
requisite components of the apprenticeship frameworks,
which are set out in the Specifi cations of Apprenticeship
Standards for England (SASE). These include:
» Competency-based qualifi cation
» Knowledge-based qualifi cation
» Employee rights and responsibilities
» Functional skills
» Personal learning and thinking skills
Functional skills provide apprentices with the practical skills
required in everyday life, education and the workplace. They
cover English, Maths and Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) and supplement the vocational
component of an apprenticeship, helping apprentices to
grow in confi dence and maximise their future training and
employment prospects.
CYQ has teamed up with the Scottish Qualifi cations Authority (SQA) to deliver the Functional skills element of the apprenticeships frameworks. SQA is an experienced awarding organisation with a global reputation for quality and service. The Functional skills assessments are set by SQA, delivered on-screen using their state-of-the-art SOLAR eAssessment system, and centrally marked by SQA. The Speaking, Listening and Communication assessment component for English Functional skills is delivered and marked by centres through controlled assessment, guaranteeing the highest levels of authenticity.
