Raising responsible digital citizens
Impact of ICT in
school
Our children have grown up using the internet and most could not imagine a world without;
- iPhones- iPads- Games consoles- Google- Emails- Facebook
They feel confident using new sites and technologies and can move from site to site with ease.
Impact of ICT at home
Prevent /Respond to the negative
Promote thepositive
In school we have restrictions, internet controls and the benefit of monitoring the children in close proximity when they are online.
We also have the new SEC cyber safety website that has recently been launched for schools in Qatar. Teachers will be sharing these resources with their classes during ICT lessons.

Take an interest in
what they do online!!!
Let them know what they should do if they feel uncomfortable online.
Discuss their
role in being
responsible
online.
Ask them about
who they
communicate
with online.
Let them see that
parental controls
are being used and
let them know
why.
