¿Recuerdas? You have already learned to form the

subjunctive of regular verbs.

The nosotros command forms take the same endings.

COSTA RICA

When forming nosotros commands, use the same endings as you do with the nosotros form of the subjunctive.

For –er/ir verbs:

-emosFor –ar verbs:

-amos¿Te interesa la naturaleza? Escribamos un artículo sobre los tucanes de Costa Rica. Are you interested in nature? Let’s write an article about the toucans of Costa Rica.

Spelling changesVerbs ending in the following require spelling changes to keep pronunciation consistent.

-car changes to -quemos -gar changes to -guemos-zar changes to –cemos

The nosotros command form

of the verb ir is vamos.

COSTA RICA

If the verb is used reflexively, the nosotros command ends in –nos.

Remember to use an accent when you add –nos to the verb, so that the stress remains the same.

Estamos muy cansados; sentémonos a descansar.

We’re very tired; let’s sit and rest.

Also note that the –s of the verb ending is

dropped.

If the verb is used reflexively…sentarse- remove the –sesentar- sentemosnos- drop the –s

sentémonos secarse- secar- sequémonos
