"TWO TIER LOGICAL WAN CONCEPT"- Ednet uses purchased frame relay for smaller sites in district- One Optical pipe placed to highest utilization point in district- Optical router localizes non-IP traffic in district & provides interconnect for municipal gov't- Private AT/IPX/IP addressing schemes within the districts can be maintained- Allows existing firewalls & content filtering to stay in place at District's discretion- Optical Router reusable as network scales up- Most existing networks in place can be accomodated and upgraded

Operating Assumptions for K12
• One connection per district funded by State• Some minimum internal network and technology
standards• No grants to LEA’s for network components• Filtering and Firewall provided by State but locally
managed
Operating Assumptions for K12
• Good Relationships of towns, schools and libraries need to be maintained
• Coordination of site survey data and initiatives with other State programs for K12
Deployment
• Some districts, libraries and campuses this year
• Large push to get to every district next year assuming legislative support
• Some reliance on yet-to-be-approved USF application
