jargon: A special language of a particular activity or group.

communicationcommunication: Shared meaning between two or more people using a symbol system.

speaker: The sender of the message.

listener: The receiver of a message.

verbal message: Shared meaning in written or spoken form.

nonverbal message: Shared meaning using facial expressions, gestures, and body language.

medium: The form in which a message is given. The plural of medium is media.

noise: Any signal that disrupts the message.
