Unit Reset
Memory Feature
63249-420middot309A1 092009
The unit reset clears a C-Bus Wireless unit to its original factory default settings This is recommended when making the unit part of a new network (when changing from a single to multiple network installation)
To reset a unit back to its factory default state
1 Confirm the unit is not in Learn Mode (The leam LED is off when the unit is not in Learn Mode)
2 Press the Clear button The Learn LED turns red and the LEO indicators blink to indicate the unit is ready to dear
3 Press and hold the Clear button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicators stay on for one second then tum OFF

All C-8us units have on-board non-volatile memory that is used to store the operating state in case of line power loss After a power outage the C-Bus Wireless Unit restores its onoff and dimmer level states according to the states before the power outage Restoration occurs approximately 10 to 20 seconds after power resumes
The units memory also stores operating states when units are turned off using keypad buttons This allows a dimmer to revert to the previously set dimming [evel when it is turned back on

Enabling a Repeater
Relay and Dimmer Wireless Plug Adaptors Instruction Bulletin
If units on a network are unable to communicate a repeater is enabled to extend the range of the network The unit with the repeater function enabled receives and transmits other units messages so that two devices out of range from each other can communicate Messages can be repeated through a maximum of four units with repeater functions activated See example below

Repeaters can be enabled at anytime without affecting a units previous programming
To enable a repeater
1 Choose the unit closest to the unit having communication problems to tum on the repeater function
2 Press the Learn button to activate [earn mode on the chosen unit
3 Double quick press the Clear button The Learn LED changes from red to blue to indicate that repeater function is activated
4 Press the Leam button to exit leam mode
VVhen you activate learn mode on a unit Nith the repeater function enabled the Learn LED is blue To disable the repeater function on the unit repeat the steps above The Learn LED returns to red when the repeater function is disabled
If enabling a repeater function resolves communication issues leave the repeater activated on that unit If communication is still unreliable activate the repeater function on one or two other units Networks work best when no more than 3 or 4 units per network have the repeater function activated

NOTE If a VVireless Plug Adaptor is already programmed refer to the Unit Reset section to clear the local control button to its original default state before grouping buttons together
1 Press the Learn button on one of the units about to be grouped
2 Press the button to be grouped on the same unit (On the Wireless Plug Adaptor th is is the local control button)The Learn LED flashes during transmission This may take a few seconds The Learn LED turns on for all units in the network
