DearChoralDirectors,OnbehalfoftheGreystoneSingersandtheDepartmentofMusicattheUniversityofSaskatchewan,IwouldliketoextendaninvitationforyourchoralensembletoparticipateinouruSinguSaskchoralcelebrationonFridayNovember2&SaturdayNovember3,2018inwhichourfeaturedclinicianisDr.JanetBrennemanfromCanadianMennoniteUniversityinManitoba.Focus:Thisisanon-competitivefestivaldesignedtocelebratethesuccessesofchoirsandinspirethemwithfeedbacktochallengethemtogreatermusicalheights.Therefore,wewelcomeallchoirsateveryageandstageofdevelopment.Format: Clinics:PerformancesandclinicswillbeheldinthemorningandafternoononFridayandSaturday.Eachensemblewillhave20minutesforperformance,followedbya30-minuteworkshopwiththeguestclinician.AllperformancesandclinicswillbeheldinConvocationHallattheUniversityofSaskatchewan. ChoralCelebrationConcert(optional):Inadditiontoapersonalizedclinicyourchoirisinvitedtoperformonesong(or2dependingonnumbersofparticipatingchoirs)withyourchoirintheaudienceshowcaseandtoalsoparticipateinamasschoircollaborationthatwillincludetheGreystoneSingers.Dr.Brennemanwillchoose3pieces:SATB,treblevoices,andlowervoices.Youarewelcometohavesingersinall3pieces. TherehearsalforthemasschoirwillbeonFridayeveningat5pm.andthecelebrationshowcasewillbeonSaturdayat3pminConvocationHall.Participatingchoirswillperformone(ortwo)songsintheshowcaseandwewillconcludetheprogramwiththreemasschoralselectionschosenanddirectedbyourguestchoralclinician. Directors’Dinner(optional):Thiswillbeawelcomeopportunityforchoraldirectorstogreeteachotherandconverseinaninformalandcollegialenvironment.AppetizerswillbeprovidedattheScarletLounge(SheratononSpadinaCrescentE).Beveragesanddinnerwillbeavailableforpurchase.
