HOLIDAY PROGRAM--The South Ha ven .School presented a lively holiday progra m last Thursdayand every child in the school participated. Kntitled "Holiday Season in Song," it was under thedirection of Mrs . laYerne S. C onklin , and featured seasonal songs and customs from countries allover the world. Pa rents and friends in attenda nce voiced their overwhelming appreciation of the pro-gram by enthusiastic app lause. There were many fine acts and songs, and the most enjoyable anelmemorable was the Mevico select ion followed by the breaking of a Pinata. The background sceneryand the school decorations which were made by the childre n helped create a holiday mood and contribut-ed to the overall success of the prog ram. Mrs . C onklin had a standing ovation at the end of the pro-gram from tlie children for her help.

The Bellport Middle Schotcelebrated the Christmas seasowith a variety of programs durinthe past week.

On Thursday Sal Greco's reading class produced and directea performance of "The Left Ove:Reindeer."

This program was followed b:choral singing by the sixth gradestudents who participated in thtpilot program this Summer. The:sang Fred Waring's "T'was thtN i g ht Before C h r i s t m as ""Thirty -two Feet and 8 LittleT a i l s ot White," "ChristmasChopsticks," and««Jolly 01dSairtNicholas."

For the final selection the en-tire student body joined in sing-ing, "Rudolph t h e Red-NosedReindeer." The musical portionof the program was directed byMrs. Robert Mahoney and Rich-ard Sullivan, who also was pianoaccompanist.

On Friday, the sixth gradechorus, seventh and eighth gradechorus, and the Middle Schoolband gave two performances ofa Christmas prog ram. Followingeach performance, members ofthe school's faculty entertainedthe student body by singing sev-e'ral Christinas carols.

In the afternoon , the sixth grad-ers had Christmas pa r t i e s inthe i r homeroom classes. Theseventh and eighth graders en-joyed a dance in the cafetorium.
