Christmas Eve Holiday Programming
A Christmas Carol: The Concert This special musical adaptation celebrates classic storytelling and ensemble performances that provide audiences with both the comforts of a classic tale and the thrill of seeing and hearing it told like never before.
Christmas on the Danube This true holiday treat will fill your senses with warmth, touch your heart, and provide your mind with geography and history. Travel down the Danube during the Christmas season to explore the culture of Europe.
Getting to the Nutcracker Boys and girls ages 3–18 are profiled as they prepare for this holiday ballet. Viewers follow the young dancers through the auditions, the rigorous hours of training and rehearsals, and the joy of landing a principal role.
Christmas with Wartburg Filmed on the college campus in Waverly, Iowa, this performance is a delightful way to enjoy the holiday season. It is packed with talent and wrapped in warmth and tradition. Several choirs and ensembles participate.
A Bucknell Candlelight Christmas This holiday special highlights the uplifting power of congregational singing, with performances of sacred music and familiar carols such as “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,” “Silent Night,” and “Joy to the World.”
Handel’s Messiah: A United States Naval Academy Tradition This three-part performance is one of the greatest choral works in Western music. It is an English-language large musical composition for orchestra, choir, and soloists that reflects on Jesus Christ as the Messiah.
Eamonn McCrystal: The Music of Christmas This concert event features an array of Christmas classics, including “White Christmas,” “The Christmas Song,” and a very special rendition of “O Holy Night.” It features world-famous musical talent from Northern Ireland.
St. Thomas Christmas: Jubilant Light 2015 This concert is a tradition for the entire University of St. Thomas community to celebrate the seasons of Advent and Christmas, while enjoying the amazing talents showcased by student ensembles on a world-class stage.
Happy Holidays with the Boston Pops Filmed at the historic Symphony Hall in Boston, the show features several special segments, including a reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas” with musical accompaniment and, of course, a visit from Santa Claus.
