• Written tests (including GATB, highly validated test of cognitive ability and psychomotor skills; Job Fit Inventory, assesses motivation to work in highly participative environment)

• Top 10 percent advanced to next phase

“Choosing the Right People”

– (4) Interpersonal Assessment Center• Four simulations (eight hours)

– Teamwork simulation» Measures how well participants make and implement

decisions using people, materials, and money– Group discussion exercise

» Assesses interpersonal and communication skills– Problem-solving exercise

» Assesses decision-making skills– Project T

» Evaluates quality of output, speed, and ideas for improvement; measures mfg assembly ability and work tempo

• Top performers on GATB and IAC moved to next phase

– (5) Leadership Assessment Center• In-basket exercise

– Measures ability to delegate responsibility, write letters, and study reports

• Ee development exercise– Assesses training and counseling abilities

• Scheduling exercise– Ability to develop and revise work schedule

– (6) Technical Performance Assessment• For maintenance applicants

– (7) Toyota Assessment• Interview

– (8) Health Assessment• Drug and alcohol test and physical exam
