Eyewash Station

• Used to

rinse eyes if

chemical

gets in eyes.

• Rinse for 15

minutes.

should be

taken out

immediately

• Stand under and pull to

quickly rinse hazardous

chemicals from your

body.

• Remove clothing.

Fume Hood

• Provides ventilation

for hazardous or foul

smelling chemicals.

– Point away from yourself

– Move back and forth in the flame

– Never heat a sealed test tube

• Never taste chemicals to determine identity.

• Secure long hair, baggy clothing, loose jewelry.

• Always wash all lab equipment and leave your

area neat and clean.

• Wash you hands after every lab!
