Begun by Pat Bogdon shortly after the movie Sister Act came out, this outreach ministry of Gate of Heaven Church has donated thousands of dollars to the church and has performed extensively throughout the local area and beyond. Directed by Marilyn O’Connell for most of its existence, it has experienced many changes in personnel and repertoire as well in the name of the group itself. Currently known as Changing Habits, the group continues to spread cheer throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania and to lend financial support to Gate of Heaven Church.

After winning the People’s Choice Award at the Seniors Have Talent competition at Mohegan Sun sponsored by Celtic Health Care in 2012. In 2016, Changing Habits was selected by viewers as the winning entry in the commercial contest sponsored by WBRE-TV, WYOU and Wyoming Valley Motors and was featured in a pre-game Wyoming Valley Motors Super Bowl ad on Feb. 7 of that year.
