• The Chance at Childhood Program includes three components:1. The Child & Family Advocacy Certificate Program2. Continuing Education programming in the legal
and social work professional communities & layperson community outreach
3. Law & Social Work Clinic
Our mission: “To promote and protect the well being of children and families through integrated education
and advocacy”
• Apply to the Child & Family Advocacy Certificate Program
• Program is comprised of three components:1. Core Curriculum:
a) Integrated Law & SW Seminar in Child Welfareb) Child Welfare/Abuse & Neglect Course in Social Work
2. Elective Coursea) Family Law elective from Law College (several to
choose)
3. Law & Social Work Clinic Externship
• Broad definition of child welfare-Clinic handles a variety of legal matters involving children
• Law & social work graduate students paired together to complete work
• Law students complete one semester of externship-12 hours per week
