International Baccalaureate
As Principal of South Hills High, we developed and implemented an IB Diploma program that served 144 students with 88 full diploma candidates. We offered 20 IB courses including 7 HL and 13 SL classes. The program was designed to offer a full diploma, associate diploma and single courses to all students. Our TOK course is offered both during the regular day and in the evening so students can participate in other school activities. We also developed an IB Parent Association to support the growing IB program. First year pass rates exceeded 94%.
AVID
At Tustin High, we expanded and enhanced our AVID program to include 5 new teachers and 10 new sections in the master schedule. The AVID program was acknowledged as a National Demonstration School in 2014 and helped students secure over $400,000 in Scholarships. While at Tustin High, I led the AVID team towards implementation of the school wide WICOR model, Socratic Method and Cornell note taking process.
STEM
As the Assistant Principal at Tustin High School, we developed and implemented a Project Lead the Way STEM engineering program. The STEM program was designed around process engineering and integrated existing CTE courses like Rapid Prototype Development into the existing course sequence. We implemented a four year model to provide incoming freshman an opportunity to continue their middle school STEM interest and the program culminated with the CAPSTONE project course.

PORTFOLIO
Project Based Learning Environment
As Principal of South Hills High, we developed and implemented a Project Based Learning methodology that complemented our IB program and provided students with an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Our teachers completed 72 hours of PBL training by the BUCK Institute for Education and began implementing PBL instructional practices in 2015.
Model United Nations
At Tustin High, I was responsible for the expansion and enhancement of our Model United Nations Program and Academy. Working closely with the MUN director and advisors, we successfully implemented the largest Model United Nations Conference in the Western United States, increased participation rates in MUN by over 100% and implemented multiple international conferences for students to participate and compete.
Virtual Business Enterprise
As the Principal of South Hills High School, we developed and implemented a Virtual Business Enterprise program that provided students with exposure and experience in the world of business, finance, marketing and management. The program articulated with Mt. San Antonio College and provided students with an in-‐house internship opportunity to run businesses at school. The program was designed to complement the Project Based Learning environment at South Hills.
